David Kirk
David has extensive experience in the software industry as well as in nonprofit program design and management. He is the co-founder and CEO of YourCTO, a software development company in Washington, D.C. that specializes in helping non-technical and early-stage entrepreneurs build affordable, effective software solutions.
He has been the primary project manager for the design, development, implementation, and scaling software projects including: enterprise web applications, SAAS software, white-label platforms, and mobile applications (hybrid, Android, and iOS) in a variety of industry verticals. David is also an advisor to the Eliasson Group, which advises nonprofit organizations on projects related to international development, humanitarian issues, social impact and sustainability, youth leadership, democracy and governance. In this capacity he helps nonprofit leaders design impactful and sustainable programming, and secure partnerships and resources. David has also created and managed a number of global nonprofit initiatives. He conceptualized, created, and served as executive producer of a not-for-profit reality television show that brought together rising entrepreneurs from India and Pakistan to pitch their business ideas to a cross-border panel of investors. From 2009-2014, he served as the Director of the Young Atlanticist program at the Atlantic Council (now called the Millennium Fellowship Program) – where he was named the youngest Director in the Council’s 50+ year history. In this role he launched youth-focused programs in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, working with strategic partners including the US State Department, the European Union, NATO, the Robert Bosch Stiftung, and many others. Prior to joining the Council, David worked on the Presidential Inaugural Committee which organized the 2009 inauguration of President Obama, and as Communications Director on multiple political campaigns. He is a member of the Global Advisory Council of the McCain Global Leaders program at the McCain Institute of International Leadership at Arizona State University. He holds a M.A. in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, and a B.A. in International Relations from Franklin University Switzerland.
