Technology solutions for better governance.

We are a nonprofit that makes technology accessible and sustainable for NGOs on the frontlines.

We provide partners with a range of technology-related services including in-depth tech assessment reports, strategic technology planning, the development of new software tools, and building on or modifying existing software tools.

Anti-Corruption

We work with diverse organizations to create custom, cutting-edge technology solutions aimed at combating corruption across various sectors. Our range of tools includes platforms enabling citizens to report corruption instantly, as well as systems for analyzing large-scale data to pinpoint both national and transnational instances of corruption. Emphasizing user-friendliness, local engagement, and long-term viability, our tools are designed to empower communities and ensure lasting impact.

Human Rights

We partner with local and international human rights organizations to help with strategic technology planning and to create technology solutions enabling them to effectively and securely monitor and document instances of human rights abuses.

Disinformation

We work with media watch organizations, NGOs, and media outlets to create cost-effective and user-friendly tools to help monitor, identify, and combat disinformation and propaganda in their respective local languages. We help leverage technology to debunk falsehoods at greater scale and to empower NGOs to go on the offensive to actively counter disinformation.

Strengthening Civil Society

We partner with NGOs to develop technology solutions that enhance their operations, strengthen their advocacy strategies, improve monitoring and evaluation practices, and advance gender mainstreaming efforts.

Our Core Principles

We believe that all NGOs should have access to trustworthy technology expertise and solutions tailored to their needs

01

Come in early and stay late

Work closely with NGOs to assess their technology skills and project objectives, and determine if technology is really needed to advance their work.

02

Don’t reinvent the wheel

Recommend existing tech tools where appropriate and accessible.

03

Build smart and scale slowly

When a new tech tool is needed, loop the NGOs into the process to ensure that our apps are user friendly. Prioritize simplicity and start small – then scale based on NGO demand.

04

Do no harm and be sustainable

Ensure that new tech is a benefit and not a financial or capacity burden. Remove long-term risk & promote local ownership by offering access, tech support and maintenance for free and in perpetuity.

An Integrated Approach

We have an in-depth understanding of both the civil society and technology sectors. We know the capacity challenges that NGOs face, understand their issues, and can translate real-world needs into viable technical solutions.

Our Process

01.

We invest the considerable time needed to truly understand each organizations’ work, goals, capacity constraints, and real-world challenges.

02.

We work hand in hand with partners to diagnose if and how technology solutions can help solve the challenges articulated by the NGO, without becoming a burden to them financially or operationally.

03.

We help determine if there are existing free or affordable tools available that addresses the need, or if a customized solution is required.

04.

When needed, we develop simple, intuitive software solutions that are entirely customized to the needs of the NGO and locally owned.

05.

We help partners plan for ongoing affordable maintenance and technical support – removing the single greatest barrier to long-term adoption of technology by NGOs.

06.

When needed, we employ cutting-edge digital marketing techniques to raise awareness of new tools with target audiences.

EOS Sustainability Pledge

All solutions that we create are locally owned and left behind – NGOs have free license to use our software solutions worldwide and in perpetuity, and have the option to locally host and manage solutions, or have our assistance to host and support them.

We help remove the biggest barrier to sustainability by working with NGOs to devise actionable and affordable  plans for ongoing tech support and maintenance.  NGOs that work with the EOS Tech Trust never have to worry about losing access to vital technology tools due to a lack of funding, lack of in-house technology expertise, or predatory practices by a software vendor.
